The Talk about PDO Threads

April 5, 2022 BY BELLADERM MEDSPA
the-talk-about-pdo-threads

Over time, the skin’s elasticity diminishes, tissue sags, and jowls begin to appear. With Belladerm’s latest offering, you can refresh your look with PDO Threads. Continue reading to learn more about our newest non-surgical facelift option and how it can benefit you.

What are PDO Threads?

PDO (Polydioxanone) Threads are dissolvable, protein-based sutures that stimulate collagen production. They are a safe and modern option for patients who are looking to restore their youthful glow by lifting and smoothing the facial tissue.

A PDO thread lift is customized to your unique aesthetic goals. Depending on the area you want to be treated, you may undergo the placement of three or four threads. This is because of the varying types of threads are used during treatment depending on the degree of lift, skin tightening, and cellular rejuvenation required for optimal results.

Here at Belladerm MedSpa™, we offer a variety of Barbed, Smooth, and Twist NovaThreads®.
While Neurotoxins are targeted to the upper third of the face and dermal filler is targeted towards mid-face rejuvenation, PDO Threads are focused on the lower third of the face including, but not limited to, the neck area.

What Areas are Treated with PDO Threads?

Typically, the areas surrounding the cheeks, jaw, neck, and eyes are the most commonly treated. While these are the most commonly treated options, PDO Threads can be used in a variety of areas. In addition, other treatable areas include:

  • Neck
  • Jawline
  • Eyebrows
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Cheeks
  • Marionette Lines

Long-lasting, Quality Results

This procedure is a safe and non-invasive way to get the results you are looking for. The threads are inserted under your skin to lift and smooth the signs of aging. 2 to 4 weeks after the PDO Threads are inserted, they are metabolized and fully absorbed by the body and are replaced by your body’s collagen and elastin. As a result, the outcome of your procedure will continue to improve as your natural collagen builds.

Is This Treatment Right For You?

If you’re looking for an overall rejuvenated appearance, PDO Threads may be right for you. We encourage you to schedule an appointment or request a free consultation with the trusted skincare experts at Belladerm MedSpa™. Restore your youthful glow with this revolutionary treatment.

Restore Your Youthful Look with Sculptra®

March 3, 2022 BY BELLADERM MEDSPA
Restore-Your-Youthful-Look-with-Sculptra®

Getting older is an inevitable process we all endure. While we cannot stop time, we can take steps to ensure we look and feel our best along the way. We know the basics: Eat a balanced diet, exercise, and get enough sleep. And now, thanks to Belladerm’s latest offering, you can restore your youthful look with Sculptra®. Keep reading to learn more about our newest injectable and how it can work for you.

Facing the Facts of Aging

Our bodies change as we get older, especially in the face. Muscles become weaker and skin begins to sag as we lose collagen and elastin. These proteins work together to provide skin its structure and resiliency.

The body naturally produces collagen but creates less of it with age, usually starting in the mid-20s and continuing to diminish over time. Less elasticity in the skin leads to the formation of wrinkles, lines, and crow’s feet. But the skin care experts at Belladerm can help you fight these signs of aging and restore your youthful look.

The Beauty of Sculptra®

Sculptra®, Belladerm’s newest injectable, is used to combat lines and wrinkles, giving your skin that smooth, fuller, and more youthful appearance you desire. This beautifying treatment contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which works with your body to stimulate the production of collagen.

Authorized for use in Europe in 1999 as a facial filler, Sculptra® received FDA approval in 2009 and is now available in more than 40 countries worldwide. The PLLA biodegradable polymer has been safely used in medical settings for decades, often as dissolvable sutures or for soft-tissue implants.

After a series of treatments with Sculptra®, you’ll experience enhanced volume for restored structure and younger-looking skin. Results are gradual and can last up to two years.

Is Sculptra® Right for You?

If you’re looking for an overall rejuvenated appearance, Sculptra® may be right for you. We encourage you to schedule an appointment or request a free consultation with the trusted skin care experts at Belladerm MedSpa™ to learn more and determine a treatment plan specific to your body. Restore your youthful look with this progressive process that yields extraordinary and long-lasting results.

The Top Five Benefits of Microneedling

May 3, 2021 BY BELLADERM MEDSPA

Microneedling is an effective, minimally invasive procedure to boost collagen, treat scars and sun damage, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles anywhere on the body. Created in the early 1990s, the process uses mini-needles to create tiny punctures in the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural cell regeneration process. The result – healthy, strong, more radiant skin. Read our blog as we discuss the top five benefits of microneedling.

Stimulates collagen production

Collagen is a compound in the skin that enables strength, structure, and a youthful quality. The mini injuries from microneedling boost collegan and elastin production. This reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The body’s wound healing system stimulates new cell growth, which makes wrinkles, crow’s feet, laugh lines, and forehead creases less visible. Skin treated with only four microneedling sessions spaced one month apart can result in up to a 400 percent increase in collagen and elastin six months after completion.

Reduces the appearance of scars

Because microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production, it’s incredibly effective at diminishing acne and other scars on the skin. Moreover, it can also be used on all skin tones. According to one study, patients who received one to six consecutive monthly treatments had an improvement in the appearance of scars of at least 50 percent after an average of 2.5 treatments. However, the only type of scar that cannot be treated with this procedure is keloid (raised scars).

Improves sun-related hyperpigmentation and age spots

If your skin is blotchy or discolored from too much time in the sun, microneedling can help. The process stimulates new cell growth, which can assist with hyperpigmentation, age spots, blotchiness, or redness to even out your skin tone. Your skin will look invigorated, fresh, and more youthful.

Improves the effectiveness of topical products

Since the microneedling process involves inflicting tiny puncture wounds on the surface of the skin, it assists with the absorption of serums, creams, moisturizers, and other anti-aging treatments. The mini holes deliver the products deeper into the dermis. This helps with hydrating the skin.

Fewer side effects than laser resurfacing or chemical peels

Unlike laser treatments or intense chemical peels, microneedling gives you immediate results with little downtime. You’ll notice a visible difference 24–48 hours after the treatment instead of days or weeks with other anti-aging procedures.

Other benefits to microneedling include a decrease in stretch marks and hair follicle stimulation. Moreover, some patients notice a reduction in cellulite and crepey skin, and pore shrinkage.

Microneedling is an effective way to get a youthful and glowing complexion. However, the results are based on your overall skin care goals and areas of the body you wish to have treated. To receive maximum benefits, plan on at least three to six treatments over a two to six week period.

The experts at Belladerm MedSpa can help you look and feel your best. To find out if you’re a good candidate for microneedling, call today to schedule your FREE consultation with one of certified microneedling professionals.
