Address and Treat Common Skin Concerns

BBL™ Therapy Addresses Common Skin Concerns

Achieve a clearer complexion and even tone with BroadBand Light Therapy (BBL™) at Belladerm MedSpa in Maple Grove. Target sun damage, redness, and address common skin concerns. Worried about age spots or rosacea? BBL™ can help. As the world's most powerful IPL device, BBL™ sets a new standard in treating skin conditions, addressing common concerns with the power of light.

How does BBL work?

The light energy delivered by BBL™ will gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate. This corrective process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, making it clearer, smoother, vibrant, and younger looking. BBL™ allows your clinician to treat age spots, small facial veins, and many other skin conditions.

BBL™ stimulates cells to regenerate, and you will typically start to see smoother, more even, and vibrant skin after the first treatment. Photothermal energy eliminates fine vessels that cause redness and reduce unwanted melanin that produces age spots and sunspots. Your skin will feel smoother, pores will be less noticeable, and uneven pigmentation will fade.

BBL™ can be the foundation for and used in conjunction with all other BBL™ treatments.

Laser FAQs & Tips

What is a Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL)?

A hybrid fractional laser delivers both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to the same or different microscopic treatment zone:

  • 1470 nanometer (nm) wavelength for coagulation. Tunable between 100 and 700 microns to optimally target epidermal and dermal pigmented lesions.
  • 2940 nm wavelength for ablation. Tunable between 0 and 100 microns to remove stratum corneum or epidermis. Speeds up healing and improves results.
What results can I expect?

Halo™ is a complete skin rejuvenation treatment. You will see improvements in overall tone and texture in addition to significant removal of discoloration, reduction in fine lines, reduced pore size, skin reflectivity, and glow.

How many treatments will I need?

What is great about Halo™ is that you can choose how many treatments you want. Discuss your needs with your clinician, and you can choose to have one or two more aggressive treatments or have multiple treatments that are less aggressive and achieve a similar goal over a longer period of time.

What happens during the treatment?

Thirty minutes to an hour before the treatment, your physician may place a topical ointment on your skin to reduce the sensation during the treatment. Your clinician will then measure your face with motion tracking technology to ensure your face is treated evenly. The clinician will treat a section of your face at a time by rolling the Halo™ handpiece in a crisscross pattern until the system recognizes the treatment is complete.

What does Halo™ feel like?

With a topical anesthetic and integrated cooling technology, most patients experience very little discomfort. Most patients describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations but are generally comfortable. After the treatment, most patients will continue to feel warm for an additional 15 to 30 minutes.

Can I return to normal activities after my treatment?

Absolutely. For the first 24 hours, you should keep your skin protected according to your clinician’s instructions, but after that, you should be able to go about your normal activities.

After the first 24 hours, your skin will begin to peel, but you will be able to put on makeup. For a facial treatment, you will see very little change on the first day. After two to three days, you will develop a light bronzing appearance. By day three or four, your skin will peel, revealing new skin beneath.

When will I see results?

You will see initial results between two and five days after your Halo™ treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the greatest pigmentary improvement in the first two to three weeks. This is followed by a dermal regeneration phase that continues to improve for months.

How long will my results last?

Your Halo™ results will last for years to come, but you should continue to keep your new, healthy skin protected at all times by using UVA/UVB sunscreen. Each additional Halo treatment you get will only improve the results, giving you even better-looking skin.
