Fraxel treatment with a fraction of the cost and no down time? Dermapen is your answer!

November 2, 2014 BY BELLADERM MEDSPA

Some of you may be familiar with this treatment and yet many may have never heard of it before. Traditionally, to get a treatment similar to this, the needling device was rolled across your skin. This caused more discomfort because of the pulling that resulted on your skin. DermaPen changed all of that. DermaPen’s carefully controlled, disposable needle applicator only moves in a stamping motion, meaning less recovery time and a more comfortable experience for patients because it leaves smaller holes. Some other reasons to consider it include:

  • Have a scar that always bothers you? Improve the look of embarrassing acne scars and other scars when you allow DermaPen to “fill them in” with new collagen. You see, when the head containing several tiny needles, stamps over your skin it causes micro-injuries to the epidermis, which signals the body to produce collagen to remodel the damaged area. This results in firmer skin, a slight improvement in some wrinkles and a very noticeable difference in areas that have been affected by a scar.
  • Another benefit to the DermaPen treatment is that it helps in the absorption of your products while the epidermis is healing.  So, whatever your skincare needs are, your products will start working even better because they will be allowed to penetrate deeper into your skin layers for enhanced delivery of nutrients and moisturizers.
  • Customizable treatment options are a fantastic perk to this treatment. The tiniest of micro needles are used to treat minor surface flaws, while slightly larger needles (still tiny) are used for deeper scars.  The number of passes of the pen will vary depending on the condition of your skin, also, so the treatment can be customized to your needs.

Coolsculpting: The Pros of Losing Fat the Safe Way

August 7, 2014 BY BELLADERM MEDSPA

Are you hanging onto your old favorite jeans or the most amazing little black dress in hopes of someday fitting in them again? Doing all the right things with your eating habits and exercise but still at a plateau and unable to change those trouble spots on your body?  If you are someone who is carrying a stubborn 10-15 pounds more than your ideal weight, you are a great candidate for Coolsculpting to lose fat the safe way.  Coolsculpting works by using a type of cold energy to remove your fat cells permanently by freezing them.  A very high-powered vacuum holds your skin and fat cells in place while the plates get activated to a low enough temperature for the fat cells to die. During this process, only your fat cells are destroyed and patients report that the discomfort level during treatment is low and tolerable.
Below are the top 5 reasons to choose Coolsculpting to shape your body into the physique you desire.

    1. Zeltiq Coolsculpting requires no recovery time! Immediately after the procedure, you will be able to return to work, your social activities, and family.
    2. This is an FDA-cleared procedure that is natural in its foundation and helps both men and women feel confident once again.
    3. Considering the most popular alternative, liposuction, which is a type of surgery, Coolsculpting is a very attractive option because it is minimally invasive. Liposuction involves pain, bruising and soreness, as well as swelling and compression garments to be worn.
    4. Coolsculpting results can be permanent when combined with long-term healthy dieting and exercise. Results begin to arise within a few weeks of the procedure.
    5. It is a quick procedure for stubborn fat elimination that can be executed in one or more sessions, depending on the amount of fat in the targeted area.

Coolsculpting is a great option to regain confidence and attain that slender and fit body you have always desired. Come in to see us for a free consultation or to learn more in person about the safe way to lose fat!

Spider Vein Therapy–‐Best way to remove unsightly veins!

May 27, 2014 BY BELLADERM MEDSPA

The arrival of summer weather can bring mixed emotions for many people. Coupled with the excitement of getting outside and enjoying the beautiful summer days is the dread of wearing shorts and knowing that everyone will see their purplish, branching spider veins. Around half of the population deals with spider veins and faces this problem every summer.  What can you do about it if you suffer from them? Belladerm offers excellent options to remove the unsightly veins.
1. Sclerotherapy is still considered the treatment of choice for the removal of superficial leg veins, many vessels may be too small to inject or patients may have an aversion to this invasive procedure. So what is it, anyway? Large areas of veins can be treated with hair-thin needles that inject a solution which irritates the lining of the vessel.  The irritation causes the vessel to swell and stick together, as well as making the blood clot.  In a matter of weeks, the vessel turns into scar tissue that eventually fades and becomes barely noticeable. Following the procedure, you will need to wear compression stockings for a short period of time but it will be well worth it.
2. IPL treatments are another option for these pesky veins. Intense Pulsed Light treatments use heat energy to selectively damage or destroy abnormal veins. As a result, the veins shrink and disappear. An advantage of these treatments is that no needles or sclerosing solutions are required.
You may have heard some myths about spider veins in general. Let’s clear up some of the facts here.

  •  Tanning does not hide the appearance of spider veins. In fact, excessive sun exposure can cause spider veins since harmful ultraviolet light breaks down collagen, which composes the walls of spider veins, and can cause thinning and spreading of the veins.
  • Vitamin supplements won’t prevent spider veins.
  • Spider veins aren’t caused by crossing your legs.
  • Gaining a lot of weight does not make you more susceptible to spider veins.
  • Heredity accounts for 80% of people who get spider veins.
  • Women are more prone to developing them. Especially those who stand regularly for their jobs and who have a blood relative with spider veins.

Don’t hide your legs this summer and suffer wearing long pants in the heat. You really can feel good about your legs again! Spider vein therapy is available at Belladerm with the best ways to remove the unsightly branching leg veins.
