diVa Laser Vaginal Therapy

From the first signs of puberty to childbirth and menopause, women’s bodies are constantly changing. Some of these changes are mechanical and some are hormonal. Although the body has ways of naturally healing, a decline in vaginal health isn’t uncommon – especially after childbirth, menopause, a hysterectomy, chemotherapy, or breastfeeding. What is diVa Vaginal Therapy?

The diVa laser was developed by Sciton® to safely and effectively heal the stretching of the vaginal canal and surrounding tissues caused by childbirth, as well as address the thinning, drying, and inflammation of the vaginal area from menopause, hysterectomy, chemotherapy, or other issues.
The diVa vaginal therapy treatment takes about three to five minutes per procedure and requires no downtime afterward. It is recommended that women receive three procedures, scheduled four to six weeks apart. No surgery or anesthesia is required, and the procedure is customizable to your specific needs.

Benefits of diVa Vaginal Therapy

Using two lasers, diVa uses heat to resurface tissue. The heat from the first laser causes a natural thermal response that repairs the surface tissue by regenerating new glycogen cells, which are necessary for proper lubrication. The second laser treats the deeper vaginal tissue through heat to stimulate collagen by coagulation. The addition of collagen increases the fullness of the tissue and thickens the vaginal walls. This tightens the vagina and helps support control of the bladder and urethra.

This type of laser vaginal therapy allows women to immediately return to their normal daily routines and experience minimal side effects with maximum benefits. Patients report minimal to little discomfort and 98 percent of patients reported that their expectations were met. Some spotting and mild cramping may occur post-treatment, and other than refraining from sex for up to 48 hours, there are no restrictions for what you can do after a procedure.
