Four Fun Things to do this Fourth of July !

We all know that Independence Day, also known as the Fourth of July, is a special day in which we celebrate our freedom. We have been recognizing this Federal holiday since 1776!  The fourth of July is also a time to gather with family and friends and have some fun! Why not try a new activity this year? To make it extra special, here are four fun things to do this 4 th of July:

  1. Fourth of July Progressive Picnic Party: Host a neighborhood progressive picnic party. Encourage participants to make a side dish or a summer appetizer. Each participant would open their home to guests and have the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes and then vote for their favorite one. The host could also provide a special prize.  All the participants could chip in to cover the cost. The prize could be a summer theme like baseball tickets and a picnic basket full of goodies.
  2.  Visit A State Or National Park: Why not enjoy the best of the land that the country has to offer?  Scenic views from protected areas are breathtaking. You’re sure to discover something new in the great outdoors.  It is a great time to take in fresh air and get exercise while exploring new places with other like-minded outdoor enthusiasts.   3. Go on a road trip:  Grab a map and pack a tent if you want to make it more of an adventure. Bring your bike along too and discover some great trails. Whether you choose to lodge indoors or camp outdoors amongst the stars, it sure to be an experience you will always remember.
  4. Plan a late night Fourth of July dinner: Enjoy it under the night sky while viewing the fireworks. Pick a spot to watch the fireworks and bring a comfy blanket and pillow. You can go on a date with that special someone or make it a celebration with friends and/or family.
