The Talk about PDO Threads

April 5, 2022 BY BELLADERM MEDSPA
the-talk-about-pdo-threads

Over time, the skin’s elasticity diminishes, tissue sags, and jowls begin to appear. With Belladerm’s latest offering, you can refresh your look with PDO Threads. Continue reading to learn more about our newest non-surgical facelift option and how it can benefit you.

What are PDO Threads?

PDO (Polydioxanone) Threads are dissolvable, protein-based sutures that stimulate collagen production. They are a safe and modern option for patients who are looking to restore their youthful glow by lifting and smoothing the facial tissue.

A PDO thread lift is customized to your unique aesthetic goals. Depending on the area you want to be treated, you may undergo the placement of three or four threads. This is because of the varying types of threads are used during treatment depending on the degree of lift, skin tightening, and cellular rejuvenation required for optimal results.

Here at Belladerm MedSpa™, we offer a variety of Barbed, Smooth, and Twist NovaThreads®.
While Neurotoxins are targeted to the upper third of the face and dermal filler is targeted towards mid-face rejuvenation, PDO Threads are focused on the lower third of the face including, but not limited to, the neck area.

What Areas are Treated with PDO Threads?

Typically, the areas surrounding the cheeks, jaw, neck, and eyes are the most commonly treated. While these are the most commonly treated options, PDO Threads can be used in a variety of areas. In addition, other treatable areas include:

  • Neck
  • Jawline
  • Eyebrows
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Cheeks
  • Marionette Lines

Long-lasting, Quality Results

This procedure is a safe and non-invasive way to get the results you are looking for. The threads are inserted under your skin to lift and smooth the signs of aging. 2 to 4 weeks after the PDO Threads are inserted, they are metabolized and fully absorbed by the body and are replaced by your body’s collagen and elastin. As a result, the outcome of your procedure will continue to improve as your natural collagen builds.

Is This Treatment Right For You?

If you’re looking for an overall rejuvenated appearance, PDO Threads may be right for you. We encourage you to schedule an appointment or request a free consultation with the trusted skincare experts at Belladerm MedSpa™. Restore your youthful glow with this revolutionary treatment.

The Lowdown on Laser Hair Removal: Are You a Good Candidate?

February 2, 2022 BY BELLADERM MEDSPA

As we sit and wait patiently for the spring weather to round the corner, it’s impossible to not think of warmer – and sunnier – days. Whether you’re planning an upcoming vacation, or just dreaming of temperatures above 20 degrees, we can all agree we are ready to sport shorts and our favorite sundresses. But with our heads in the clouds, dreaming of 70 and sunny, we may miss out on the optimal hair removal months. Read on as we discuss what laser hair removal is, why winter is the best time for this treatment, and how you know if you’re a good candidate for laser hair removal.

What Is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a nearly pain-free hair removal procedure with virtually no downtime following the treatment. As your technician gets to work, the laser targets the pigment melanin in the root of the hair follicle and eliminates the hair growth from that area. Unfortunately, one treatment is typically not enough to wipe out the hair growth entirely. During your first visit, a well-constructed treatment plan is put into place with usually six treatments spaced 4 – 8 weeks apart (depending on the area being treated, as well as hair type and skin).

Am I a Good Candidate?

If you have lighter skin and darker hair, you’re in luck. Since the laser targets pigment, people with these characteristics typically see the best results. On the other hand, those with darker skin tones or very tanned skin, will have a more challenging time with the laser. Darker skin tones have more melanin in the upper layers of the skin, which can lead to a greater likelihood of burns from the laser. Therefore, the treatment must be less aggressive for those with darker skin, often starting with a gentler setting and beginning with test spots on the skin to avoid burns. It can also take more treatments to achieve the desired results.

On the other end of the spectrum, is light hair. Those with white or blonde hair may not find laser hair removal effective at all. If you lean more on the lighter side of hair color, it’s best to consult a professional to determine if you are a good candidate for laser hair removal.

It’s Winter. Why Do It Now?

Winter is ideal for treatment because there are less opportunities for your skin to be directly exposed to the sun. Prior to the laser treatment, it’s preferable for skin that will be treated to be covered from extensive sun exposure. Also, because the treatment itself can lead to increased skin sensitivity, it’s necessary for recently treated skin to be covered from sunlight. It’s suggested you keep the area covered for about 3 weeks, which is much easier to do with cold weather.

Let Belladerm MedSpa help you look and feel your best, just in time for the warm weather. Call today to schedule your FREE consultation with one of our certified laser technicians. Give the Gift of Belladerm: Why Gift Cards Are the Perfect Present

December 1, 2021 BY BELLADERM MEDSPA

As the holidays approach, gift-giving anxiety may begin to set in. The holidays are a time to show those that matter most just how important they are, which is why there is pressure to find the perfect gift that expresses just that. Continue reading our blog to discover why a gift card is a perfect present.

Flexibility

Giving a gift card is a great way to ensure your loved one gets exactly what they want this year. Purchasing a gift card completely takes the guesswork out of finding the perfect present while still gifting more than cash. In addition to the flexibility behind the actual purchase, they also can choose the perfect time to redeem their gift card.

Stick to Your Budget

Gift cards are a great way to ensure you stay on budget. You no longer have to spend that “little extra something” for the perfect present when you can decide for yourself just how much you want to load onto the gift card. Giving a gift card ensures you stick to your original plan.

Treat Yourself

For some, putting money towards themselves isn’t a thought that crosses their mind. Between children, groceries, and bills, there doesn’t seem to be a reason to spend extra money on something that isn’t necessary. By giving the gift of a gift card, you are giving your loved one the reason they need to treat themselves.

Environmentally Friendly

It’s believed that as long as there is a gift receipt in the bag, a loved one can return the present and buy themselves something they truly want. Recent studies have shown this isn’t true. Whether the gift is never returned, or the return date is missed, each year, 5 billion pounds of holiday presents end up in a landfill. By purchasing a gift card for your family and friends, you no longer contribute to this statistic.

Give the Gift of Belladerm MedSpa

Belladerm MedSpa offers gift cards and during the holiday season they have a special offer: buy one gift card for $150 and get $25 free. Belladerm Gift cards can be applied to any skincare product or services. If you know of someone who deserves a treat for themselves, contact us today for more information or to purchase a gift card for the holidays.
